Flautist Noemi Gyori and guitarist Katalin Koltai have founded their Dialogue Duo during their first year of studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, back in 2002. They have performed across Europe at festivals such as the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland, the Thy Chamber Music Festival in Denmark, the Rhodes International Festival in Greece, the Haydn Festival Eszterhaza in Hungary, to name but a few. Noemi and Katalin have also actively collaborated with Hungarian composers, premiering new works dedicated to their duo, at major contemporary music events. They launched their Classical Flute and Guitar project in 2015, which set out to create a fresh, new repertoire for the flute and guitar duo, based on original transcriptions of Viennese classical and early romantic keyboard works. Through their work, they aim for the audiences to experience a new and dynamic quality of their formation, highlighting musical characteristics of the duo that are traditionally associated with string and keyboard instruments. The project covers research and production from A to Z, including: the establishment of instrumentally inclusive and challenging new transcriptions of canonic repertoire, their publication as part of their unique ‘Classical Flute and Guitar Collection’ established and released by Doblinger Music Publishing Austria, and the performance, programming and workshopping of the pieces. Noemi and Katalin will release their second album, titled 'Souvenir de Vienne' in 2018, featuring their original transcriptions of works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven for flute and guitar.
