Grant applications can be submitted at any time but are only considered by the Trustees once per quarter.
Application deadlines are: 15 January, 15 April, 15 July, 15 October. Applicants can expect a response within one calendar month following each application deadline.
To apply for a grant, please fill out the form on the left and press submit. Trustees will not enter into any pre-application correspondence.
Examples of potentially qualifying projects are: contribution to artists and organisers' fees & expenses for live performance; creation of new performing material (unpublished scores, parts, texts and the like); recordings of new material in all audio and video formats. Grants are most frequently awarded to named artists for live UK-based performance.
There are no set limits for grants but the Trust is a small charity, typically disbursing £4,000 to £5,000 per quarter.
The Trust does not assist undergraduates or students still studying for musical qualifications. It does not normally assist established artists such as those who already appear frequently at principal musical venues, who broadcast regularly or who have made many recordings. It will not provide funds for travel (other than that directly associated with its qualifying projects) or for overseas study and does not support performances or recordings taking place outside the UK; nor will it contribute to the purchase of hardware (instruments, published music scores, recording or music reproduction equipment, computers and the like).
