Owing to the high volume of applications the Trustees regret that no further applications for grants will be accepted or processed until January 2019.
To apply for a grant, please fill out the form on the left and press submit. You can expect to receive a response from the Trustees within one calendar month. Trustees will not enter into any pre-application correspondence.
Examples of potentially qualifying projects are: contribution to artists and organisers' fees & expenses for live performance; creation of new performing material (unpublished scores, parts, texts and the like); preparation and marketing of new recorded material (CDs, DVDs, web-based material and the like); protection of copyright. By "qualifying project" is meant a proposal which is likely to be considered for financial support by the trustees.
GCMT is a small charity. Grants reflect this status and are most frequently awarded to named UK-based artists for live performance.
The Trust does not normally assist undergraduates or students still studying for musical qualifications; neither will it normally assist established artists such as those who already appear frequently at principal musical venues, who broadcast regularly or who have made many recordings. It will not provide funds for travel (other than that directly associated with its qualifying projects) or for overseas study and does not support performances or recordings taking place outside the UK; nor will it contribute to the purchase of hardware (instruments, published music scores, recording or music reproduction equipment, computers and the like).
